| First Stop Local Shop is a campaign to boost retail and support local shops in the Forest's four market towns.
A recent survey commissioned by the District Council estimated £100 million per year is being spent outside of the Forest by Forest residents. Combine this with the growth of supermarkets and internet shopping, it brings potentially worrying times for our local shops.
First Stop Local Shop is a new campaign supported by local traders, the Forest of Dean District Council, The Citizen and The Forester that aims to claw back some of this money that is 'leaking' out of the Forest.
