Project history
The first festival took place in 2003, throughout the month of July. We had events indoors and outdoors, catering for varied tastes (e.g. classical music, blues, African) and ages (e.g. Teddybear's Picnic). Our best-attended event was Jazz in the Park, which included a green energy event with school children's energy scrapheap challenge.

We worked in partnership with local organisations such as the local Church, Yacht Club and Local Steam Railway Society.
Project status

Here in Lydney, we've been going for something a bit different and the Lydney Festival contains a veritable pot-pourri of events.

Oxford, Swindon & Gloucester Coop

Again this year we have chosen two murals by young people of our community; one to replace the previous one on the Lydney Coop store and the second for the Fleece Chambers in Newerne Street. We're very happy that Midcounties Coop have been our sponsor once again.

A big thank you to all our sponsors this year which include: The Forest of Dean District Council, Oxford Swindon & Gloucester Coop, The Countryside Agency, Lydney Town Council, Stroud & Swindon Building Society and Jeremy Williams & Co Accountants.
